Pocket Letter ~ Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home & Tim Holtz French Industrial

I played along with a Pocket Letter exchange over at Scraps of Darkness/Scraps of Elegance last month and, now that my swap partner has received it, I can share the pocket letter I made!

The front of the Pocket Letter was made with Graphic 45's Home Sweet Home collection - I used the 6x6 patterns and solids paper and the 8x8 and 12x12 patterned papers, as well as pieces of the coordinating chipboard. All the papers are inked with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and I added in some burlap twine to the tags/chipboard pieces.

The back of the pocket letter was made using the Tim Holtz French Industrial papers, tissue tape, rub-ons, clip and a charm. I used a Creative Embellishments French Postmark Stencil with Distress Embossing Powder in Black Soot in the background of the page. I inked the edges of the papers with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and splattered the entire page with watered-down Distress Ink in Black Soot.

That's it for today! Thanks for popping by my blog!

Pocket Tag Gift Card Holder ~ Creative Embellishments

Today, I'm sharing a project inspired by the Sea - a Pocket Tag Gift Card Holder using Prima's gorgeous French Riviera collection papers and lots of sea-themed Creative Embellishments chipboard.
I folded a Prima doll tag base to create the pocket in the tag and then cut out elements from the French Riviera 6x6 papers to cover and embellish the tag - I inked the edges of all the papers with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I tucked a journalling card cut-out into the pocket so you can see where the gift card would go. I lightly sponged white gesso on the Creative Embellishments Fishnet Panel 2 and cut it into small sections to place at the top and bottom of the tag. I painted the chipboard Sea Shells with Prima Art Alchemy Paints by Finnabair. I also painted the Nautical Anchor with the Art Alchemy paint, adding some burlap twine for the rope along the anchor. Finally, I finished off the embellishing with some Prima Art Stones and a burlap twine bow. Some close-ups are below so you can see all the details!

Typography Mini File Folder Brag Book ~ Creative Embellishments

Today I'm sharing a fun little project that I created for the Creative Embellishments Design Team - a Mini File Folder Brag Book! I've used Graphic 45's Typography collection, paired with Creative Embellishments mini Ruler wood icon and the smaller of the chipboard Photo Booth Film Strips, cut into smaller sections.
I fussy cut lots of tags and bits from the Typography papers and inked the edges of all the papers with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I also used the Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the wooden Ruler. I cut the Photo Booth Film Strip into sections and used one section on the front of the Mini Folder and a double section on the back of the Mini Folder. I embossed the Film Strips using Ranger Fine Black Embossing Powder. I only glued down two sides of the Film Strips so that I could tuck photos into them later. Lots more close-ups below.

You can see the fussy cut tags and mini-photo booklets I tucked in the front pocket in the photo below.
These are the photo mats inside the Mini Folder - I die cut the tabs using a Tim Holtz die and fussy cut the numbers from one of the Typography papers.
This is the back of the folder with a pocket created from a fussy-cut tag and two mini-ATC tags tucked into it. I've tucked in a few fussy cuts behind the Photo Booth Film Strip too.
Here is the back of the folder with the tags and fussy cuts taken out - I can tuck a couple of small photos in behind the film strip!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today - I hope you liked my Mini File Folder Brag Book - I can't wait to fill it up with pictures!

Hollywood Icons Artist Trading Cards ~ Creative Embellishments

Hi there crafty friends. Today, I'm sharing a set of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) with you - inspired by two Hollywood Icons, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. I've used images fussy cut from some print-outs of paintings by the contemporary artist Michael Moebius - the Audrey Hepburn painting is called "Tiffany Blue" and the Marilyn Monroe painting is called "Pink Flavour". I always make two sets of ATCs so that I have one to keep and one to trade!
I've used one of each of the Creative Embellishments Mini Ornate Frames on each ATC. I painted them with Prima Art Alchemy Paints in colours that match the bubbles on each image. Then, I added Ranger Crackle Accents to the frame to get a crackled, vintage look. The backgrounds for the ATCs were created with Prima Art Extravagance Antique Silver Crackle Texture Paste. I inked the edges of the ATC with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot. I also used papers from the 6x6 paper pad of Prima's Vintage Emporium collection. I added quotes by each actress to their ATC:
  • Audrey Hepburn - "I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls."
  • Marilyn Monroe - "A smile is the best makeup any girl can wear."
Here are some close-ups of each of the four ATCs!

I'm trading two of these with my partner for the ATC Swap at Scraps of Darkness/Scraps of Elegance - I hope she likes them!
