I have a quick share for you today - a pair of wine bottle gift card holders I made for my son's teachers. I've used Graphic 45's amazing An ABC Primer collection, which is ideal for teachers gifts! I did lots of fussy cutting of elements from the papers and I inked the edges of all the papers with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I'll be adding these to bottles of our homemade wine - a treat for the teachers to celebrate summer!

Hi there Crafty Friends! Today, I have a fun project to share using Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime Collection, along with some chipboard Tiny Fairies, the Fairy Door Set 1, Flourish Butterfly Set 2, Berries and Fern Foliage 4 by Creative Embellishments. I've created two fairy houses, adding lots of dimension using floral wire, moss, fussy cuts from the design paper and more!
The Fairies and Butterflies were painted using Finnabair's Art Alchemy Metallique paints by Prima. The Doors were stained with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Vintage Photo and the Door Hardware was stained with Distress Stain in Tarnished Brass. The fern and berries were stained with Distress Stain in Forest Moss and then I added some Distress Stickles in Wild Honey to the berries. I've taken lots of photos and close-ups so you can see all the details of the Fairy Houses!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today - I hope you enjoyed my little peek into a Fairy Fantasy World!

Hi Crafty Friends! Today I'm sharing an altered paintbrush I made using lots of different Creative Embellishments Chipboard. I've used the following chipboard pieces on this project:
Lindy's Stamp Gang June 2016 Color Challenge.
I started off by gluing all the chipboard pieces onto the paintbrush, also adding a few metal embellishments and a resin piece I had in my stash. I painted everything with two coats of white gesso to get a unified base to add the colour. I started off by spraying the piece with Lindy's Stamp Gang Midnight Rendezvous Raven Starburst. I really just wanted the black to settle into the recesses of the piece, so I gently wiped the top with a baby wipe to remove some colour. Next, I alternated misting the piece with Lindy's Stamp Gang Flat Fabios in Caribbean Blue and Summer Lovin' Sun. Once I was happy with the teal/blue and yellow blends, I wanted to add some pink too - so I mixed some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals in Pretty in Pink Pink with water and misted a few areas of the piece. I love how the different colours of mists blend to get hints of green or purple on the piece. I highlighted the word "Art" with Inca Gold Rub in Magenta and then highlighted raised areas of the entire piece with Inka Gold Rub in Champagne. Finally, to add a more distressed look, I scraped away some of the coloured areas to reveal some of the gold metal of the paintbrush. Here are a few more angles and close-ups!

This was such a fun project to make! I hope you enjoyed seeing it!

It’s a new month…. so you know what that means …..a new challenge is up on the Creative Embellishments blog! The challenge is to be inspired by at least 1 element from the picture below. The twist is to use your favorite mixed media technique. Please let us know what element you were inspired by and your favourite technique.
I love reading – especially fantasy novels – so this month’s inspiration photo was the impetus behind me creating this fairy bookmark! I’ve used one of the Tiny Fairies and one of the Simple Key Hole Plates to create the top of the bookmark. I’ve painted the chipboard pieces with Art Alchemy Metallique and Opal Magic Acrylic Paints and added some Stickles to the fairy’s wings for some fairy shimmer! I dabbed the light patina paint onto the gold keyhole and the painted lace outfit on the fairy so that they would look similar to the resin pieces I used for the bottom of the bookmark, unifying the look of the piece!
