Good Boy - CSI #38 and OUAS

Just a quick post tonight since it is so late. Insomnia is my nemesis of late.....I'm playing along again with CSI and Once Upon a Sketch. Here is my layout for this week and the "Case File" that inspired it!
This is the first time I have scrapped a photo of our dog Strider. We got him the year we moved into our home and had him for only four years - when we lost him to cancer. My journalling (on the tag tucked in on the left side) reads: "I don't know if you ever really get over the loss of a pet. Strider was our 'baby' before we had a baby and I still miss him. It makes me sad that we had so little time with him. He was our Good Boy."

My "evidence" for this layout includes: woodgrain, newsprint pattern, dog or pet accent (the bone paper), and flowers. Here are a couple of close-ups of the layout:

That's it - like I said - a really quick post tonight! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

Lovely take on the challenge. Love those beautiful blooms. It's always hard to let go of a per. They are like our babies. Thank you so much for playing with us at OUAS.

Losing a pet is so hard - I don't think I ever can get used to it even if I know it will happen when I get them.
Beautiful page with the perfect details.
Thank you for sharing with us at OUAS!

Awww Sarah. what a touching and beautiful layout of Strider. Boy do I know how you feel. This year in March we had to end the suffering of our long time friend of 15 years. Cancer too, took her spunk, her endless love she had for me, and the crazy jealous of other pets who might be getting attention. You are right you NEVER get over it. You will always feel like thing is something missing. I'm still, for short brief moments, thinking to myself as I cut up some roast chicken.. oooh Jasmine is gonna lov...... then it hits you all over. Or I'll hear a neighbour dog and I'll get ready to yell, Could you let Jasmine in the...... then you remember. I'm sure this will go on for sometime, but you don't forget. Your tribute to Strider was very touching... and Just wanted you to know I know how you feel. Everyone has been trying to talk me into getting a new one.. but my heart was so broken, I don't want to feel that again. So as of yet.. no one has convinced me. I guess we all deal differently.
Beautiful design and perfect floral embellished. Thanks for sharing.
