Here is my project for the Blog Hop!
I was inspired by the organic feel of the pattern in the Couture Creations embossing folder to create an "earthy" mixed media tag! This tag was so fun and easy to create with the Imaginarium Designs Chipboards and Couture Creations Die and Embossing Folder - here is a quick step by step:
  1. Emboss a piece of paper slightly larger than your tag base with the Couture Creations Embossing Folder - I have used the Large Peacock Fans Folder from "The Marriot Collection".  Glue the embossed paper to your tag base and trim around the edges and punch the hole.
  2. Gently ink the surface of the embossed tag - this will really bring out the embossing - also ink the edges. I've used Distress Ink in Vintage Photo
  3. If you wish, add some more detail with a mask and 3D paint - I've used the Mini Leaf Frame 6x6 template from The Crafter's Workshop with Art Anthology Velvet Dimensional Paint in Basil
  4. Cut three small frames using the Couture Creations Elegant Square die from "The Van Roe Collection". Layer the three frames using 3D foam adhesive. The layered frames become the centerpiece of the tag. I added flowers, fussy cut butterflies and a large square brad inside and around the frame as embellishments.
  5. Now for your chipboard elements - mist two of the Imaginarium Designs Art Deco Embellishments - I've used Art Anthology Colorations Spray in Mocha. Paint the Imaginarium Designs Word "grow"  (I've used the same paint as I used for the masking), then add Ranger Crackle Accents to the word.
  6. Add the chipboard embellishments to the tag, layering the title on top of one of the Art Deco flourishes. I've also added a brad to the centre of each of the Art Deco Embellishments - they frame the brads perfectly!
  7. As a final step, if you want to - splatter your tag with a few drops of the same mist you used on your chipboards.
Here are some close-ups of the tag!

Snapshots ~ Scraps of Darkness and Imaginarium Designs

This layout was created with the Prima Stationer's Desk collection included in the Scraps of Darkness April His & Hers Kit, along with some Prima flowers and metal embellishments from previous kits and some Art Anthology dimensional paint from my stash. The fun photos of my son are from May the Fourth - hence the Star Wars shirt in the photos. . . May the Fourth be with you.....
I based this layout on the April SOD Sketch - I've used the masked rulers instead of paper strips. Once the gold masked areas dried, I rubbed them with Inka Gold in Hematite to get the silvery-gold combination. I stapled some of the ruler ribbon from the Main Kit to the layering and added in some Prima flowers a Prima clock (cut in half) from previous kits. I really wanted a lot of metallic elements in this layout! Before adding the photos, I splattered the layout with Gold Izink and Liquitex Acrylic Ink in Black Marble.
I used one of the Imaginarium Designs Snapshots Frames, which I painted with Art Anthology Gold Sorbet dimensional gel paint. This is the same paint I used for the ruler masking on the layout - I just love the metallic glittery finish. I added in one of the Tim Holtz clips from the Creativity Add-on to one of the pictures as another metallic element. Here are some close-ups!

Spring ~ Mixed Media ATC

A super-quick share today - of a mixed media ATC I created for the Scraps of Darkness/Scraps of Elegance March-April ATC Swap. I created this fun ATC using Imaginarium Designs Chipboard, some Prima flowers and some Authentique letter stickers. I used several different colours of Silks Acrylic glazes to paint the ATC.
Thanks for popping in today! Happy Spring!

Altered Typography Mini Clipboard ~ Imaginarium Designs

This is the second of two projects I created in April for Imaginarium Designs. I altered a mini-clipboard using Graphic 45's Typography collection and embellished it with some Imaginarium Designs Tags and Chevrons.
I used two different sizes of Loolabelle's Chevrons #2 and simply painted them with Distress Crackle Paint in Aged Mahogany. I mod-podged sections of the Typography paper onto the tags, inked the edges with Distress Ink in Black Soot and then tied the tags together with some black twine. I finished off the embellishing with some fussy-cut bits from the Typography paper, some Tim Holtz Idea-ology metal embellishments (pen nibs and mini-paperclips) and a cool metal typewriter embellishment I picked up at a local craft store. Here are some close-ups!

You ~ Imaginarium Designs and Page Drafts

Imaginarium Designs has teamed up with Page Drafts as a sponsor for the One of a Kind Challenge for the month of May and, as an Imaginarium Designs DT member, I got to play along with the challenge reveal.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHALLENGE CRITERIA
Its all about celebrating that
'ONE OF A KIND'
extraordinary someone, something, experience or event!
THEME
You can of course scrap about your beautiful mother, the experience and wonderment of motherhood or maternal bonds that are the glue that keeps your family together, but lets keep that optional. You may instead want to scrap about something extraordinary or that special something because its unique and there is nothing else quite like it. Or alternatively you could include the phrase 'ONE OF A KIND' in your title work, journaling and or quote.
PICK A TEMPLATE
You must use one of the 5 sketches from the 'ONE OF A KIND' Page Drafts Release #30.
You may rotate the sketches any which way your heart desires however your creation must remain as close as possible to the original sketch design.
NB: You are more than welcome to submit more than one page, digital, traditional, cards and canvasses are all welcome so long as your project clearly shows a sketch has been used from release #30.
FOR FULL Challenge Details and to see ALL the sketches - visit the Page Drafts Blog!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is my layout for the challenge and the sketch that inspired it!

I've used a combination of Kaisercraft Basecoat and Art of Life papers, as well as some Timeless Tags Collectables on the layout, along with some crumpled sewing pattern paper for texture/dimension. The Imaginarium Designs chipboard pieces were first painted with white (banner/butterflies) or black (Title) gesso and then I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Moonshadow Mists in Bucket o' Blood Red and Buccaneer Bay Blue to mist/splatter them. I have also used white gesso and the mists on the background, with additional splatters of the white/black gesso. I finished the layout by adding some white thread and some flowers/wood elements from my stash. Here are some close-ups!

This is a Happy Life
I completed my first layout with this kit - and I had SO much fun playing with the bright colours. Winter seems to be hanging on forever this year - so I decided to create a happy, summery layout to bring me out of my winter doldrums!
This sweet picture of my son playing with his pool floaty perfectly coordinated with the colours in the Amy Tangerine Plus One papers - and I had to throw in some of the awesome Sour Apple Shimmerz Dazzelerz from the Colour Add-on.  I love the Prima stamps included in the March Kit/Add-ons - I used the chevron stamp (Main Kit) and chevron flower stamp (Embellishment Add-On) as the pops of black on this layout. I also used a Imaginarium Designs Cross-Hatch chipboard piece behind the photo - I had painted it an olive green - but then I added some of the Lemon Drop Shimmerz Dazzelerz on top. Here are some close-ups!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today - be sure to check back over the next few weeks for my other projects created with this awesome Radioactive Kit!
