Monochromatic Layered Cards ~ Meg's Garden

Hi There! Today, I'm sharing a set of simple, monochromatic, layered cards I created using the beautiful Chantilly Cream paper collection and some lace and ribbon from the Meg's Garden store!
I used the square pages from the Chantilly Cream Papercraft Pack as the base to build up the cards and cut the rectangular strips from the Papercraft Pack into tags, which I embellished with some lace and ribbon. I added pieces cut from other pages in the 12x12 and Papercraft Pack along with a doily from my stash to create the layers and finished off the layering with cut-outs from the Cut & Create Page and the Papercraft Pack. Finally, I splattered the cards with some white gesso and watered down Distress Reinker in Vintage Photo. Here are a few close-ups!

A Vintage Shadow Box ~ Meg's Garden

Hi Crafty Friends! Today I am sharing a small shadowbox I made for Meg's Garden using the gorgeous Chantilly Cream papers and embellishments from the Meg's Garden store!
I used the Chantilly Cream 12x12 papers 04 and 06 to cover the inside and outside of the box, respectively. Then I used lots of cut-outs from the Cut & Create page and Papercraft pack to decorate each section of the box. All the papers and the edges of the box have been inked with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I've added in some gorgeous flowers, lace, metal trinkets, and trim from the Meg's Garden Store, as well as a few extra items from my stash. Finally, I finished off the box with a dash of Stampendous Bronze Luxe Mix (consisting of Mica Flakes and Glitter). I took lots of photos and close-ups to share with you so you can see all the details!
In these angled photos, you can see how I wrapped some lace from the Meg's Garden store around the edge of the shadowbox and added a little 'drawer pull' from my stash to the bottom of the box. The chocolate-coloured mesh ribbon that I used to create a 'hanger' for the box is also from Meg's Garden store.

Here are some close-ups of the different sections of the shadowbox so you can see all the little goodies tucked in to each opening!

Thanks so much for stopping by my Blog today! I hoped you enjoyed seeing my shadowbox project!

Vintage Santa ATCs

I created this set of ATCs for the November/December ATC exchange at Scraps of Darkness/Scraps of Elegance! I found out today that my exchange partner, Jenny, got them - so now I can share some photos/details about them!

My craft room is currently dis-assembled for redecorating, so I had to use some papers that I had handy - so I used the American Crafts Jack Frost 6x6 papers and some Vintage Santa images from Meg's Garden for the ATCs. I went with a wintery theme and stenciled on some Liquitex Opaque Flakes texture paste and poured Finnabair glitter over the wet paste for some extra shimmer. I made a wreath with some berry vine from my stash and punched out greenery from three different shades of green paper. I added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and some winter berries from my stash and then finished the ATCs off with the 'snow' made from heavy gesso sprinkled with glitter. Here is a photo of the set and some close-ups of each ATC.

I really hope Jenny liked her ATC set! Happy Christmas!

"Nana" - for Meg's Garden using the English Rose Garden Collection

Hi Scrappy friends! I have a new layout using the Gorgeous English Rose Garden collection. As soon as I saw these papers, I new I wanted to do a heritage layout using a photo of my grandmother with my sister and me and our children - three generations! I wanted the layout to look almost like a visit to Nana's house - with her favourite colour (green) as well as floral and lace accents.
I've embellished the layout with doilies and lots of flowers, lace and metal accents from Meg's Garden store as well as a few pieces from my stash.  I also added some extra sparkle to the layout using a stencil with white texture paste sprinkled with bronze glitter! Here are some close-ups and different angles of the layout!

Mixed Media Vintage/Grungy Cards for Meg's Garden

Hi Scrappy friends! Today, I'm sharing a set of three mixed media, vintage/grungy cards created using the gorgeous Meg's Garden English Rose Garden collection!  I just love the Cut & Create pages included in the Meg's Garden collections - they make it so easy to find a gorgeous image to act as the centerpiece for a card!
I created these cards using the 6x6 papers and bit and pieces of the 12x12 papers from the English Rose Garden Collecton. I also added in some pieces of doily, lace and flowers from the Meg's Garden Store. I used sparkling watercolours, black acrylic paint and white gesso from my stash to add the colour/splatters, as well as some flowers, sentiment tickets and microbeads as embellishments. Here are some close-ups!

Easter Treats ~ Meg's Garden DT

Hi Scrappy Friends! Today I'm sharing a layout with you that I made using the gorgeous Meg's Garden Forgotten Meadows collection! I just love the soft floral images on these papers and decided to make a layout that really played on a balance between a large floral image and my photo collage. Here is my son searching for his Easter Treats this year!
I used a Prima basket-weave stencil and white molding paste along the right side of the layout and chose two colours of Lindy's Stamp Ganag mists that  match the tones in the large floral image on the left side of the page. I used the mini-papers to create the layering under my photos and added a flower (tinted with the same pink mist) and some lace from the Meg's Garden store. Finally, I added a few resin pieces, title and bling from my stash to complete the layout. Here is a close-up and a couple of different angles of the layout so you can see the layering!

Vintage Pocket Letter ~ Meg's Garden DT

Hello! Today I am sharing a new project for the Meg's Garden Design Team using a combination of the gorgeous Butterfly Garden and Forgotten Meadows collections, as well as some embellishments from the Meg's Garden Store and from my stash. Have you heard of pocket letters? I just recently learned about them and, since I love making Artist Trading Cards, I thought it would be fun to create a pocket letter page, which is (essentially) a collection of coordinated ATCs in a trading card page! The Meg's Garden Mini-Papers and Cut & Create Ephemera papers are absolutely perfect for creating pocket letters - you can also use bits and pieces leftover from your larger papers! I wanted this page to look as though it were a collection of vintage memorabilia from a trip to Paris, so I have distressed and added Vintage Photo distress ink to the edges of the papers.
Here are some close-ups of each of the rows  (out of the plastic trading card page to avoid glare)!

I hope you like my pocket letter page - it was so fun to make! If you create one with Meg's Garden products, leave me a link in the comments below so I can pop by for a look!

Butterfly Garden Collection Layout - Meg's Garden DT

Hello again Scrappy Friends! Today I am sharing a layout created with the absolutely stunning Butterfly Collection papers and embellishments from the Meg's Garden store. I started off with The Butterfly Garden by Night 12 x 12 paper for the base, added a coat of clear gesso and then did some masking with a Prima stencil and Prima Art Extravagance Graphite Texture Paste. Next, I built up layers using pieces from the 6 x 6 papers in The Butterfly Collection Mini Pack as the foundation for my son's first school photo from Junior Kindergarten this year! I fussy cut some butterflies from the mini papers and added some pieces of white floral wire to them as antennae. I added flowers, fibres, ribbon and a bead (added to a pearl stickpin from my stash) from the Meg's Bundles Temptation in Blue embellishment pack. I also fussy cut some text circles from the 12 x 12 Cut & Create Ephemera page to use as embellishments and as the centre for the dark blue flower. Finally, I finished off the layout with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Caribbean Blue Flat Fabio mist mixed with water.
Here are some close-ups!
Thanks so much for your visit to my blog today! I hope you found some inspiration from my layout!
